Port Alice Pulp Mill

Port Alice Pulp Mill

Northwin Environmental was hired by Price Waterhouse Coopers LLC to address and secure multiple points of environmental non-compliance and to initiate mitigation measures at the site of the abandoned Port Alice Pulp Mill.   Northwin hired local workers with mill expertise and worked with the Ministry of Environment and Climate Change, PWC, McElhanney Consulting and off-site vendors to develop an action plan for the disposal of various hazardous wastes typically generated by pulp mill operations.  This project required Northwin and its employees to work 7 days a week and at times 24 hours a day to ensure the safety of the environment for the site and the community of Port Alice.
